Fortunately, BSKT is throwing a late season holly jolly gathering, which includes a festive three-course dinner, green kombucha martini or mulled wine on arrival and live entertainment, all for just $60 per head. This is the perfect date night option if you have a plant-based or gluten-free foodie in the group, with dietary-friendly options a plenty and Christmas pudding with Cocowhip to ensure you will well and truly need to pop that top button to fit it all in.

Sunday Banquet With Bottomless Bubbles & Beer | Jimmy Wah’s
We were just about to hit publish on our round up of fabulous foodie events when one email popped into our box that had us messaging our mates to proclaim “Sunday Session this weekend?” Jimmy Wah’s, Burleigh’s contemporary Vietnamese institution, has just given you an excuse to pre-plan an RDO on Monday. For $69 per head, you’ll get a six-course feast of Jimmy’s finest Vietnamese (think Yellowfin tuna sashimi, steamed bao and banh mi) washed down with bottomless bubbles and beer. On the no booze train? You can still enjoy the Sunday banquet sans alcohol for $39.

Leeuwin Estate Art Series Dinner | Harry’s Steak Bistro
The first in a series of bespoke dinner events on the agenda for Harry’s Steak Bistro and big bro, Justin Lane, this August Harry’s are inviting one of their fave winemakers, Leeuwin Estate, to co-host a mid-week dego. Guests will devour five seasonal courses (there will be steak!), paired with premier Australian wines and all wrapped up in Harry’s effortlessly cool hospitality. Sounds like fun, no? If you snooze and miss out on the August 2 event, keep your booking fingers primed for follow-up dinner soirees, including the Pizzini Wines Winter Feast at Justin Lane on August 24 and the Mac Forbes Wine Dinner back at Harry’s on September 28—it’s enough to make any foodie blush.

The Northern Feast | The North Room
If you think we’ve been banging on about this fabulous new Mermaid Beach eatery a lot lately, you’d be correct. We heart The North Room and we ain’t afraid to say so. A few weeks back, we even sacrificed a night in front of the telly watching State of Origin, because it meant a dinner date and sampling of The Northern Feast. So popular was the first sitting of this special dinner event, they’re back with edition two. A very reasonable $69 per person will get you a shared six-course dinner and two-hour wine package, plus the option to order some cheeky mid-week cocktails for just $12 each. Reserve your seats fast, as tickets will not last.

Truffle Degustation | 8th Ave. Terrace
You know it’s winter (and your foodie obsession is out of control) when you’re counting the sleeps until a wine and truffle celebration. The geniuses at one of the Gold Coast’s best restaurants, 8th Ave. Terrace, have paired two of the greatest foodie gifts—fine wine and truffles—and then created a delicious mid-week dinner to celebrate the two. Hosted by 8th Ave.’s gifted chef Chris Harrington, who’ll be on hand to walk you through dishes, you’ll be dining on the likes of smoked potato tortellini with shaved truffle and beef Rossini with foie gras and Madeira demi-glaze. If you have a soft spot for truffles, the season is almost done, so don’t miss this chance to treat yo’self.

Rieslingfreak Winemaker Dinner | The Blue Door On 5th
Picture this: oysters with cucumber, chilli and sorrel sorbet; kingfish with ginger and wakame; Ballina king prawns; bugs (the seafood variety) with miso, eggplant and macadamia; market fresh fish adorned with butternut pumpkin, peas and ponzu; and each inventive dish paired with glass after glass of some of the Clare Valley’s finest riesling. Sounds heavenly, right? This August at The Blue Door On 5th, a relative Palm Beach newcomer, talented young chef Dylan Cashman is collaborating with Rieslingfreak winemaker John Hughes for a deliciously educational night exploring all things riesling. If you’ve not yet discovered the ways of The Blue Door On 5th, let this be your excuse.

Manga/Mangiare Degustation | Lucky Bao
Manga and mangiare translates to 'comics' and ‘to eat’ in Japanese and Italian respectively, and eating is exactly what you’ll be doing when you nab a ticket to Lucky Bao’s Japanese and Italian fusion degustation this August. Hosted by winemaker Sandro Masole and promising to flex the muscles of the talented cheffing team, tickets to their July winter degustation sold out fast, so don’t think about this one too long.
