Well dreamers it looks like spring is shaping up to be an epic time to be living on the Coast (although let’s be honest it’s rad 365 days a year) because we’ve got great news…there will be yet another exciting new opening next month. And this time it’s from Broadbeach faves Aloha Bar and Dining, so we just know it’s going to be a goodie.

Get excited for Taboo Tiki, the achingly cool little bro of Aloha. Owners, Tim Glasson and Gavin McDougal are expanding north, taking his signature brand of tiki meets jungle vibe to Surfers Paradise. That’s right gang, yet ANOTHER new opening in Surfers. If that’s not enough proof this hood is having a total revival we don’t know what is.

Forget what you know about Surfers of the past, you don’t have to spend your nights in dingy pubs or clubbing the night away, Taboo Tiki is the chic cocktail bar this ‘burb has been waiting for.

While she’s still under construction, the space, located on Orchid Ave just up from House Of Brews, is set to be absolute must for you and your crew. Hidden down an alley way, filled with awesome street art, you’ll find your new fave watering hole. Inside there’s a srsly huge bar that will be fitted out with not one, but four cocktail-making stations, serving up the most OTT, fabulous tipples you could think of. As well as ample tables and seating, there’s also uber-cute Bali-style huts you can book for special events. Hello Insta-worthy b’day party!

But what about our bellies we hear you asking. Guys, come on, did you really think this place would let you go hungry? They'll be serving tapas style plates and share platters all night long baby! Woohoo!

Taboo Tiki is hoping to open its doors early October and will be serving up the good times Wednesday to Sunday, 5pm till late.

We’ll be back soon for a tasty look inside.
