Taste buds at the ready Melburnians, because one of our state’s most revered gourmet institutions is launching a pop-up eatery as part of an international spring event that promises to be the ultimate sensory overload.
Featuring international DJs, iconic LA-inspired cocktails, a delicious fusion of modern Australian and authentic street food, free-flowing premium beverages and a first-class culinary experience, the 2017 BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival from 14-21 October is set to be the best (and tastiest) yet.
This year’s international event boasts a new look Heath Enclosure decked out with a lush social garden and bar led by LA cocktail institution, E.P & L.P, who’ll be serving up its iconic ‘Where Love Lives’ cocktail (with a twist), in addition to a menu full of famous eats that’ll bring the quintessential West Hollywood vibe to life.
For the ladies (and gents too), there's also the Moët & Chandon Lawn where parched racegoers can wet their whistle with a flute of crisp Moët Champagne and an array of gourmet nibbles from the catering kings, Tommy Collins.
The Lawn itself is a stone’s throw from the David Jones Fashion Stable, which means you can trot on over for a gander at this season’s hottest fashions after a glass or two of the good stuff.
To add to the trackside culinary storm that’s brewing, Group 1 jewel in the premier racecourse’s crown—the Black Caviar Restaurant, headed by Ian Curley—is set to combine world-class wining and dining to deliver a superb six-course menu, paired with crisp beverages and a jaw-dropping view from the grandstand.
The Local is centred inside the track itself and is a culinary and entertainment hub where cultural smorgasbords meet everyday pub classics. Global DJ sensation Grant Smillie will throw down track after live track on BMW Caulfield Cup Day over at the Carlton Draught Front Bar where you can also enjoy mouthwatering treats from STKBB, Biggie Smalls and CHE.
Sharing the spotlight is internationally acclaimed Australian restaurant, EZARD. Led by world-renowned Chef Teage Ezard and award-winning Head Chef Jarrod Di Blasi, the first class pop-up eatery will be treating hungry racegoers to a lavish four-course lunch paired with premium beverage table service and is unparalleled by any racecourse dining experience you’ve had to date. Check out some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage here.
The 2017 BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival is breaking the mould and redefining what racing means in Australia and the world. From October 14 - 21, a day at the track will mean world class beverages, award-winning food, international artists and a vibrant atmosphere of colour and entertainment. Quite frankly there’s never been a better time to head to the races, in fact, we’re dusting off our platform wedges as we speak.
