La Dolce Vita, An Italian Spring at Prix Fixe

Prix Fixe in Melbourne have released their new menu inspiration, and it's celebrating all things Spring, Italian style. With Mediterranean style cooking, Philippa Sibley has designed a clean, simple menu which allows the produce to be the star on the plate. Think osso bucco with saffron polenta, or gorgonzola with truffled honey. The icing on top has to be the almond olive oil cake, though, with nougat ice cream and blood orange. Weekends in spring have become an occasion to celebrate thanks to Circa, The Prince, in St Kilda. Celebrating deep blue delights, with a constantly changing chef's menu every Saturday and Sunday, spring is in full bloom with this dazzling dining. With dishes like Frazer Isle crab with Siberian caviar, crab emulsion and chervil juice, or Clarence River prawns with dill pickle, lard and pork broth, you won't have to be at the Spring Racing Carnival to race your way to Circa, The Prince.

Wine Dinner at No35

Celebrating the luxury house of Champagne, Taittinger, and Mount Pleasant winery, the Sofitel is hosting an exclusive dinner at No35 this October. Scott McWilliam, renowned winemaker, will join head chef, Martin Horsley, for a gastronomic adventure that takes guests though five courses with matched wines. If you're after a little bit of indulgence, this is the night for you to sip on something special.

The Great Duck 'n' Pinot Lunch at The Botanical

If you're quackers about poultry and pinot, then you're daffy if you miss this foodie Friday lunch. With fabulous wines such as Two Paddocks from Central Otago, Tarrawarra from Yarra Valley, and Fromm from Marlborough, vino fans will not be disappointed by the drops. Want to party like it's neinteen neinty nein this Oktoberfest in Melbourne? Well that's exactly what Munich Brauhaus are telling us to do at their snazzy new Bavarian bierhaus down at the waterfront. Where over nein-hundred lederhosen clad, fake-German accented party goers can eat all the pork produce they want, and chug imported Bavarian biers, there's tonnes of festivity taking place this October. Particularly during the 3rd-6th, with a truckload of entertainment and great food specials at Munich Brauhaus. Fantastisch!

What's on in Melbourne for cheese enthusiasts this October? Behind the Rind – a Cheese 101 course packed full of fun and education. Discussing histories, different styles, accompaniments and dietary issues and requirements, there's not much this gouda session doesn't cover. Feel free to brie-ng a friend for some tasty training, and you'll both learn some grate tips! Sorry for the cheesy puns… But seriously, one more from the internets? What cheese can be used to hide a horse? … MASCARPONE!

Celebrating a welcome new trend for 9-5ers (and anyone else), Drunch is the wicked combination of brunch and drinking. Sound awesome? Damn straight it sounds awesome, and Trunk think so too! They're holding a delicious party every two months on Saturdays, running from 11am-5pm, starting this October 11th.
