Melbourne’s ‘Coachella For Dogs’ Festival Is Back This Year

Break out the puppy glitter paint, guys. Melbourne’s Dogapalooza Festival is coming back for another year of woofs and doofs (in that order).

Yep, Dogapalooza is hitting the grassy slopes of Richmond’s Burnley Park again on Sunday 11 November. Why should you care about this? First, because it’s called Dogapalooza ffs. Secondly, because it’s pretty much the ultimate dog’s day out.

Last year’s Dogapalooza sold out quicker than a spaniel on a bag of Schmackos, so get your tickets early. The ‘Early Dog tickets go on sale 9 July (AKA next Monday), with full-price tickets being released on 6 August. There’s even doggy VIP packages, which will give you access to a fenced off area, right opposite the stage.

As usual, Melbourne’s food trucks will be rocking up, along with DJ Lorde Florence Fleetwood and beatsmith Hayden Calnin (kind of a folk-electronica-Bon-Iver sorta vibe). Last year we got dog-washing stations (courtesy of Blue Wheelers) a pop-up Moon Dog Brewery Bar and bespoke pet vendors like Pethaus slinging the merch, so fingers crossed they're coming back for more.

It’s all for a good cause too. The proceeds will be going directly to a bunch of doggy-themed not-for-profits like Oscar’s Law, Melbourne Animal Rescue and Greyhound Rescue Victoria.

Bring your puppy, bring your pooch, bring your dog...just watch where you tread.
