Uncle Tetsu’s Cult Cheesecakes Are Coming To Melbourne

Not to alarm you or anything (jokes—get very alarmed) but Japan's iconic cheesecake brand, Uncle Tetsu, is landing in not just one, but two brand-spankin' new Melbourne stores this year.

In case you’ve been living in a hole for the past twenty years, these guys have become a bit of a global sensation. And it's all down to one dish: their light-as-air, fluffy, super subtle, perfectly browned cheesecakes.

With a cult following behind them many of us have hopped on flights just to get a taste of the pillowy soft gift from the cheesecake gods in Fukuoka, Japan. So far we know the two stores will be launching at 55 Swanston Street and another right in the heart of Melbourne Central.

When these guys opened in Sydney last year, the queues stretched around the block. They had to institute a one-cheesecake-per-person rule, so Melbourne’s two stores better ready themselves for an onslaught of cheese-lovers.

Seriously, our summer bods are so screwed right now.

Stay tuned folks.

The Details

Where: Swanston St & Melbourne Central
When: "Really soon", according to the Uncle Tetsu FB page.
