Oh Sydney, you never fail to come up with the goods. Whether it’s the middle of February and you’re making us sweat our faces off, or it’s the middle of winter and we’re, well, freezing our buns off, there’s always something to do.
This week you’ll be warming up at Groove Therapy, snuggling in at the cinemas and eating your weight in dumplings.Yep, we get you—here are five awesome things to do in Sydney this week.
The Morrison Oyster Festival
When it comes to slurping down endless oysters, there’s only one place to head and that’s to Sydney’s most famous $1 oyster happy hour. Yep, that’s right, The Morrison’s Oyster Festival is back for 2017 and that means all of your favourite oyster-related things are back with it. Think $1 oysters (like we said), regional roulette (it involves a literal spinning wheel), and oyster, leek and mussel chowder with duck fat fries. Book your spot here.
When: 1 August – 31 August
Where: The Morrison

Reservoir Dogs Screening At Dendy Newtown
It’s been 25 years since the iconic Quentin Tarantino film, Reservoir Dogs, first hit the screens and we’re headed to the Dendy to celebrate. The Newtown and Canberra cinemas are hosting an extra special screening, so you’ll sit back and settle in to watch this 90’s classic, with special edition hot dog and beer in hand. Yep, this is the only way to do the movies. More details here.
When: Monday 31 July, 6,30pm
Where: Dendy Newtown & Dendy Canberra
Cost: $18 ($15 for Dendy members)
Morgan McGlone X Lennox Hastie @ Firedoor
The man behind one of Sydney’s fave fried chicken joints (that’s Belles Hot Chicken, FYI) is joining forces with Lennox Hastie (of Firedoor) for one night only, and it’s set to be one big celebration of Australian produce cooked over fire. Sounds simple, right? Well, it’ll be pretty damn simple for the 50 lucky ducks (or should we say chickens?) who nab their spot at this table. Your only job will be to eat errrrything that’s put in front of you, deal?

Where: Firedoor, Surry Hills
Cost: $270 per person

You’ll enter the little glass door hiding next to 107 Projects that glows pink, head down the corridor and you’ll know you’ve come to the right place when you see the checkered floor. At this point there’s only one thing left to do and that’s to dance your little heart out. Head here for more.
