The burgeoning local beer scene shows no sign of slowing down, with the arrival of yet another seriously legit beer event—the Backyard Invitational Gold Coast, hosted by Stone & Wood.
Popping up in the Surfstitch warehouse in Burleigh on Saturday 17 August, Stone & Wood’s Backyard Invitational Gold Coast will see local stars Balter, Black Hops and Burleigh Brewing joined by over 20 invited breweries, distilleries and a local kombucha company. This August, they’ll converge on our sunny shores to showcase their products and chinwag with novice and die-hard drinkers via a beer hall of tasting stands, together with masterclasses and industry talks, live music and food trucks. Beer writer and podcaster Luke Roberston from Ale of a Time will host a masterclass covering honey fermenting, dark beers and sour beers.
This all-inclusive beer festival and charity fundraiser will be open to the public between 2pm and 6:30pm with $60+BF tickets including entry to the festival, all your beer (yes, you read that right!), talks and masterclasses, a take-home beer cup and $5 food truck voucher to ensure you line your stomach for a big afternoon of drinking.
Stone & Wood are legends when it comes to supporting local charities, with proceeds from this event going direct to Gold Coast charity Orange Sky via their national not-for-profit, the inGrained Foundation.
Tickets are now on sale via the Stone & Wood website, so we suggest you fire up the group chat and nab your place at this inaugural event—then help make history as the Gold Coast continues to solidify its reputation as a leader in the Australian craft beer scene.
