It’s safe to say we’re not short of a good brekky joint on the Coast, but we’re always excited to welcome a new eatery into the fold, especially when the team behind it is a bunch of seriously talented locals.
Enter, Burleigh Co Op.
This game-changing venue came about after the abrupt closure of Burleigh Social last month left a hole in the Miami foodie scene. With the aim of creating a welcoming space for all, local businesses including Hotel Miami, Granddad Jacks, Fingers And Bones Catering, Ellki Blu Jewellery and The Lost Boys Barbershop have all joined forces—and the results are pretty damn special.
Set to open mid-February, the eatery will take up residence on Hibiscus Haven and will champion all things local. Everything from the tableware to the ingredients on the seasonal, ever-changing menu will come from the nearby area.
The Co Op will be the first of its kind on the Coast and aims to be a place where anyone and everyone is welcome.
“We’ve built a great community of creatives here and we want to continue to do what we can to support local businesses in the area,” says Nicka Atkins of Hotel Miami.
We’re told the fit out will be just as cool as the crew who are putting it together; think clean and minimalistic with Scandi influences and rustic touches.
They’ll be brewing Social Espresso coffee and serving breakfast and lunch from 6am seven days a week. We’ll be back soon for a tasty look inside.
