While Gold Coasters are squeezing the last drops out of the warmest winter on record, it appears the spring of 2017 will also go down in history books for being steaming hot for very different reasons.
Seriously though folks, spring is rammed with events, from colossal secret picnics, world-class opera on the beach, beer and cider fiestas, busking weekends, champagne cabarets and seashore sculpture displays, and now, this.
Hey Sunshine is a sparkly new music fest that’s preparing to grace our sunny shores this October. Just this morning, event organisers, together with hosts Burleigh Brewing Co., publically announced deets of their inaugural music party and we’re already hooked.
On Saturday 14 October, Burleigh Brewing Co.’s taphouse will transform into a mini festival site with nostalgia-themed staging, light installations and surf film projections by local filmmakers, creating an energy-filled retro vibe.
With a healthy line-up of vibrant musical acts taking to the main stage, creating an afternoon that’s sure to see you grooving, expect to discover local and interstate artists you’re surprised you’ve lived without.
Headlining are Brisbane’s lauded five-piece band The Belligerents with new psych-pop releases as well as their Triple J Like a Version rendition of Fat Boy Slim’s Praise You. They’ll be joined by the hip hop and electro soul beats of Bootleg Rascal, as well as Galaxy Girls and The Cinema Wristys, both from Byron Bay, Sydney up-and-comers Thunder Fox and Borneo, plus Gold Coast’s own Peach Fur. Amping the party between sets will by electronic vinyl mixes by The Wonky Queensland.
Hey Sunshine is all about good vibrations, craft brews and music appreciation, and this we like! Want to learn more? Jump over to Hey Sunshine’s Instagram or visit the website and secure tickets to one of the coolest new events to descend on the Coast this spring.
