Well, well, well… it appears 2017 is the year that just keeps on givin’!
Those who work in or frequent Broadbeach already have a deep love and respect for laneway cafe and barista bar, No Name Lane.
No Name Lane’s loyal clientele have been having withdrawals since the cafe closed a month back, undertaking renovations to add a brand new kitchen and vastly expand their brunching offerings. Given the cafe’s raging popularity and limited capacity from their tiny 40-metre-square space, in the past their primary focus has been delivering consistent and award-winning coffee in every form. That is… until now.
With the addition of a full kitchen and two passionate young chefs (head chef Josh Roberts and sous chef Caleb Garth), they’re making it their mission to create a Melbourne-esque specialty coffee shop they hope Broadbeach will be proud of. And we have absolute faith they’ll nail it.
While we can’t wait to slip in again soon for brekkie and a legendary No Name Lane cold drip, we’re totally frothing at news the team have taken over the old Endota Spa space fronting Elizabeth Street, extending out to add a vibing city-style bar which will be serving, get this, $10 espresso martinis all day, erryday! That’s right erryday, people! Yes, dreams really do come true! Incorporating their award-winning Black Sheep Coffee, the freshness and quality, they tell us, makes for one mind-blowing espresso martini.
But it gets better; they’ll be crafting their very own coffee liquors by running vodka, tequila and rum through their coffee via cold drips. Swoon! And, of course, pouring a rotating roster of SEQ beer brands including Stone & Wood, Balter and Burleigh Brewing. All paired perfectly with dishes from their after-dark menu (thanks again, new kitchen!).
It’s true; No Name Lane will soon be open from 6am ‘til midnight, so basically you never have to leave. And you won’t have to wait long either, with the new kitchen and bar on track to launch before we bid adieu to 2017. That's right, a grand re-opening is planned for Saturday 30 December. We’ll see you there?
