Taste Obsession Singapore Dinner Series

Hanging for some tasty Singapore eats but don’t have the cash for the airfare there? We’ve got some delicious news for you and you’re going to want to tell your mates, stat.

There’s no denying it, Singapore boasts one of the world’s most diverse food experiences. From a vibrant street food culture to a long list of award-winning bars and restaurants (including six listings in the World’s 50 Best Bars and two Michelin starred hawker stalls), a trip here is on the top of every foodie’s bucket list.

Well the good news is you're invited to the Taste Obsession Singapore Dinner Series taking place this March and April, at Cirrus Dining, to take your taste buds on a journey to Singapore.

Kicking off the six-week pop-up, from 3 to 5 March, Brent Savage, Co-Owner/Chef at Cirrus Dining is teaming up with Wayne Liew, Chef at third-generation Singapore eatery Keng Eng Kee, to design a nine-course degustation that tells the story of ‘their’ Singapore. The totally drool worthy menu will combine Chef Brent’s flair for refined Aussie flavours and Chef Wayne’s Zi Char style of cooking. FYI—Zi Char literally means ‘cook and fry’ in  the Hokkien dialect and relates to dishes cooked to order (aka hawker-style eats) with plenty of Malay, Indian and Peranakan influences.

For those who miss out, Cirrus Dining will be serving a special Singapore-inspired menu from 6 March to 12 April. The dishes on this special, one-time only menu include mouth-watering Singaporean Chili Crab with a Fried Bun and Glazed Duck Breast with Sichuan Pepper. There’s also an extra special dish on offer, co-designed by Chef Wayne and Chef Savage that reflects the fusion of their styles—Steamed Blue Eye Trevalla with Fermented Wood Ear Mushroom, Shiso and Bak Kwa. For those with a sweet tooth, you can finish your trip around the Lion City with Pandan Custard, Kaya Coconut Jam and Lychee Granita. Yep, you won’t want to share this one.

This shared tasting menu will set you back $90 per person, which is a whole lot cheaper than an airfare—although after eating this meal, we reckon you’ll be checking out how much annual leave you’ve got up your sleeve for a cheeky Singapore getaway stat!
