To celebrate the House of Dior’s 70th anniversary, The National Gallery of Victoria will play host to The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture. In addition to the gallery’s own collection, the exhibition will see couture threads flown in from Paris and international galleries including New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This is a pretty huge deal guys, and is definitely worth the flight down to Melbourne considering it’s the world premiere of the exhibition. In addition to the showing of more than 140 garments from Christian Dior Couture, there will also be accessories, photographs, sketches and haute couture fabrics.
But don’t go planning your next weekend around it, because the doors aren’t set to open until 27 August next year and it’ll run until 7 November.
