An after-dark market dedicated to the Middle Eastern holiday of Eid is returning to COMMUNE later this month for a delicious evening of feasting and festivity. Eid marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting that allows people to feel what it is like to go without; encouraging generosity, empathy for those less fortunate and an appreciation for everything that they already have.
Well, come Friday 4 August, there will be no going without, because (as is tradition) neighbours, friends and family will all come together for a night of celebration at the Middle Eastern Night Markets.
If last year is any indication, this one-night-only market will be all about Middle Eastern street food, live music acts, market stalls featuring Arabic fashion and homewares.
