There are many cracking things happening in Sydney this weekend and we have a feeling there’ll be something for whatever mood you happen to be in in.

Head down to The Museum of Contemporary Art this Friday night to see their iconic late-night program ARTBAR come to life, kicking off their year of celebrating strong women. Well, we’re already sold. This Friday will feature works by Australian artist, Anney Bounpraseuth, based on her connection to south west and western Sydney. As for every other week, they’ll be a similar story, starring live contemporary art, music and performances, all curated by established and emerging female artists. Grab your ticket here

Pure Chocolate Seduction

Calling all Chocoholics! This weekend, Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is partnering with Weiss Chocolate to deliver a seriously delish selection of chocolate creations. Nothing will make you happier than a weekend of desserts, sweet treats, chocolate-inspired cocktails or a chocolate-themed high tea. More details here

Pooches On Your Pouches

Dog lovers, listen in. This weekend, you can have a pooch panted straight onto a Mimco pouch or tech case and it’s as cute as you’re picturing. Just head down to the Bondi Junction store, select your pooch and watch the magic happen.

A Cocktail Evening At The Flamingo Lounge

The Flamingo Lounge in Potts Point is where you’ll want to be this Thursday. That is, if you like the sound of a night dedicated to cocktails and a great cause. In support of National Breast Cancer Foundation and Icon Cancer foundation, the Flamingo Lounge is hosting a cocktail evening to raise funds for cancer research and it’ll involve a full line up of entertainment plus a couple of special guests. Aperitivo At BACCO Espresso

ICYMI, aperitivo is like the Italian version of happy hour and not only are yummy drinks included, it also involves a whole lot of snacks. This week Aperitivo has returned to BACCO Espresso from Wednesday to Friday, so from 4pm till 9pm you’ll score complimentary Italian snack food errry time you order a wine or spritz at the bar. Think arancini balls, veal and pork meatballs with ricotta, pickled sardines grilled with aioli and radish, or Jaffles of Taleggio. Hungry yet?

Grape Stomping At Three Blue Ducks

Returning for its seventh season in Sydney at Three Blue Ducks, The Urban Winery Project is hosting a two-night grape stomping extravaganza. Yep, you can expect a four-course menu matched with delicious wines and if a night of wining and dining doesn’t sound great already (honestly, we can’t be friends), you’ll also be getting amongst the winemaking process with a spot of grape stomping while learning all about your fave tipple. Free Thai Chi At Westfield Sydney

If something a little more relaxing is what you’re after, then walk right this way: Westfield Sydney is hosting free tai chi classes this Friday and it’s the most relaxing offer we’ve had all week.  Not only is a great way to feel fit AF, but believe it or not, it’s actually a fab way to treat a bunch of diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and arthritis and has super healing powers to ease your mind after a stressful working week. The Diner Project

A Route 66-inspired diner has popped up at the Carriageworks Farmers Markets and why didn’t we realise we needed this in our life sooner? You can expect all of the cliché (read: freaking awesome) dishes, like cheesy breakfast grits, a Chicago-style hot dog (with pickles, chilli, tomato, celery salt and more). Our favourite is definitely the fried chicken brined in Pepe Saya buttermilk (we know, lush) served on a waffle or milk bun with coleslaw, homemade dill and garlic pickles and either maple syrup and hot sauce. Seriously, head here, head everything and roll home.

Sissy Ball

Get pumped for a night of dancing, vogue-style, at Sissy Ball this Saturday. Inspired by New York’s underground ballroom scene, you can expect a soundtrack that mixes between disco beats, house, bounce, pop, and performance music. If you were after pre-sale tickets they are sold out, but you can grab one at the door—obviously, these are limited so you might want to camp out just in case.

Dog Drag Dress-Up Party

This Saturday is your pooch’s time to shine people—there’s a Mardi Gras-themed drag party happening… for dogs. The rules are simple: head here with a dressed up pooch, score a free margarita (oh, so noowww you’re interested?) and grab yourself a Pitt Street burger or a round of southern fired chicken wingettes while you’re at it.

PACT SALON: Desire Lines – A Playfully Subversive Art Experience

A new showcase of performance, theatre and art is what you’ll find at the Pact Centre for Emerging Artists this Saturday. Get amongst the walking tour and explore your way around a range of performances, installation pieces and sonic experiences, all designed to make you question memory, authenticity and spectatorship in a one night only mini festival. Wurstfest Sausage Party

Let’s be frank, will this be the best or the wurst festival in Sydney this week? But for real, this week in Sydney will mark the first annual Wurstfest sausage party and it’s basically an excuse to eat allll of the sausages (20 to be exact), and drink pure Bavarian bier. Clearly, it’s the best fest happening in Syd this week. Book your spot here

Beresford Sundays & Absolut Present ‘WE ARE COLOURFUL’

The launch of Beresford Sundays and Absolut Vodka’s “We Are Colourful Campaign” will kick off this Sunday. And FYI, it’s basically one big celebration of community, freedom, self-expression and equality. The events will run every Sunday until the end of March and they’ll be showcasing locals; shining a light on what equality means to them. You can expect Brunches running from 11am to 1pm with a range of yummy Absolut cocktails created especially for the Sunday sesh.

Rainbow Run Sydney

This Sunday is Rainbow Run Sydney’s fifth birthday and you can join in the fun by celebrating marriage equality, family, fitness and health while puffing it out on their courses. All proceeds are going to the Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby (GLRL) and it doesn’t matter if you’re not about that fitspo life because all fitness levels are welcome with the choice to run the 2km, 4km or 6km course.
