The Keystone Group (the masterminds behind The Winery, Manly Wine, Jamie's Italian and a bunch of other great Sydney bars) are launching a new pop-up space on the first floor of Sugarmill in Potts Point… And the first tenant moving in is Barbarello’s Pizza & Arcade.
From June to September, the space will be transformed into an old school pizza and pasta joint featuring a short, affordable, and cheeky menu with dishes like the ‘Mutha Clucka’ and ‘Porky’s Pig & Pineapple pizza’ to fill those bellies. On the drinks front, you can wash it all down with a bevvy from the playful cocktail list which hints at Italian favourites like the negroni and the Aperol spritz.
Open Friday to Monday evenings, the whole place is going to have a super fun vibe, perfect for after work drinks or a late-night fix, decked out with a pool table and vintage arcade games like Pacman, Buck Hunter and pinball machines. 80’s and 90’s hip-hop will be cranking from the speakers, a genre that is known to inspire impromptu dance-floors everywhere. Pro-tip: for those looking to save a bit of cash, but still wanting to live large, keep your eyes peeled for different weekly offerings like $10 negronis on Saturdays and 2 for 1 pastas on Monday night.
The space will be used as a place to trial a range of creative concepts and is all about collaboration, encouraging anyone with a great idea to get in touch. The idea is that it will act as a blank canvas for a series of unique pop ups ranging from bars and restaurants to live music and art exhibitions. We’re excited to see what’s in store!
