The king of all foodie collabs is back in 2020 with one hell of a spicy, umami-stacked time.

This week, Butter is teaming up with Kong BBQ—a sibling of the Chin Chin restaurant family and Melbourne’s mecca for smoked feeds, made using age-old Japanese and Korean techniques.

The result of this interstate collab? A stuffed, spicy sandwich like no other.

Called the Butter x Kong Kim Chi’ken sandwich, it’s inspired by traditional Japanese and Korean flavours, so you can expect a juicy, spicy, umami-packed ingredient list. This bad boy is loaded up with Butter’s famous fried chicken tender, kimchi butter, pepper pickled fennel, pickled cucumber, fried egg and togarashi spice all on a freshly steamed milk bun.

To celebrate the collaboration, Butter is also dropping a super limited number of Butter X Kong merch—T-shirts for a cool $50 in-store at both Butter locations and online.

The Butter x Kong BBQ Kim Chi' ken Sandwich special will be available at in-store at Butter Surry Hills and Parramatta between Friday 24 January to Monday 3 February for $18.50. Head here for more details.

And you should probably check out these gelato-stuffed mango pancakes.
