Fire Up, Sydney’s Annual Chilli Festival Is Back

By Jessica Best
2nd Sep 2019

Sydney, your annual Chilli Festival is back for the second round with a whole lot of saucy, spicy antics for you to get around.

The ultimate spice blowout will have an undercover food pavilion with a number of vendors offering up free samples of chilli bites ranging from mild to “XXXtra wild”. A bunch of “cooling” gems like Mr Whippy will also be around to soothe your soul should you at some point over-commit to the spice life.

The highlight of the day goes down to the Seatonfire Chilli Chocolate Challenge at 2pm (there’s a $15 charity donation to enter) where anyone keen on conquering the scorching good stuff will have to sign a death waiver. Wow.

For the not-so-big chilli fans, you can rest assured there’ll still be a sling of not-so-hot feeds around on the day from the Albion bistro. The festival will also bear an epic chilli chocolate coffee meat rub, organic chilli seeds and a whole heap of artisan chilli sauces you can buy and take home.

To top things off, your gold coin donation and raffle ticket purchase will raise money for drought-affected farmers and go directly to Buy A Bale.
