Sydneysiders will be treated to the distinct flavours of Tokyo's street food in a new initiative entitled "Tokyo Lunch."

Eight of Sydney's top Japanese restaurants have joined forces with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) to serve up delicious culinary feasts, at extremely generous prices.

Curated exclusively by a who's-who of Japanese cuisine, the menu concept has been designed to represent Tokyo's hearty street food, and includes: a delectable $12 Pork Katsu Sandwich at Japaz; Saké Restaurant's $33 Tokyo Teishoku of grilled miso-marinated fish, chicken karaage, sushi and dessert; and the new Edomae-Sushi $36 lunch banquet at Ocean Room.

Lunchtime specials will also be offered at Azuma Restaurant, Blancharu by Yomo, Izakaya Masuya, Japan City East Street and Ooh Rice.

'Tokyo Lunch' will appear on the menu in Sydney until February 25.
