It’s Happening, Mr Miyagi Is Coming To Sydney

By Holly Kingston - 09 Aug 2018

There are very few things we will openly admit Melbourne has on us, however, Mr Miyagi (with his tasty Miyagi fried chicken and all) is definitely a win for our southern counterpart. There, we said it. Don’t rub it in.

If you’re like us and you’ve got Mr Miyagi at the top of your Insta archives, well do we have some cracklin’ news for you. We’re talking a Mr M. and Messina collab. Just let that sit for a sec. Yep, it’s an interstate showdown greater than Origin and TBH we’re already obsessed.

Basically, if you’ve ever heard of Messina Eats, you’ll know that the gelato juggernaut literally pairs up with other foodie meccas just for the hell of it so they can create some of the best bloody feeds ever.

Messina Eats will host the two-day event at their humble little Rosebery car park and let’s just say this is somewhere we’re eager to parallel park ourselves for the entire 48-hours.

The menu will be packed with Japanese tacos and hotdogs so yes, if there was any question about a food coma of sorts arising, you’ll be in for it. The wagyu beef ‘Japa-Dawg’ features panko crumbed wagyu beef cheek with burgundy onion jam, potato puree and black truffle mayo in a soft bao roll. They're also churning out ‘Spider Crab Tacos’ with tempura soft shell crab, sushi rice, guacamole, pickled jalapenos and curried mayo in a taco shell.

Should you have enough belly space for dessert (and you will), you can also expect wasabi fries and Messina’s ‘Easy Cheesy Japanesy’ baked warm cheese tart. For more info on this ridonkulous collab, head here
