Pick Of The Precinct | Paddington + Win Dinner And Drinks Worth $800!

By Ange Law - 07 Oct 2016

Paddington is one of those dreamy suburbs with the perfect mix of shopping, fitness, food and bars, plus an abundance of cute puppies to pet on your morning walk. It's proximity to the city and the beautiful tree-lined streets mean standards are high here, so it’s the businesses that really stand the test of time which we get excited about.

We've teamed up with Sydney institution The Paddington Inn to bring you the best of the best in Paddington and to give you the chance to WIN dinner and drinks for you and five mates to the value of $800 thanks to the friendly folk at Paddington Inn!

The Paddington Inn

As far as pub refurbs go, The Paddington Inn is one of our absolute favs. An icon when it comes to Sydney’s bar scene, this little gem in the heart of Paddington manages to combine quality in the kitchen with some serious talent behind the bar. The open plan layout in the restaurant dishes up meals designed to share (always a win in our book), but that work perfectly for one also. Our top picks range from their chargrilled octopus starter to Black Onyx flank steak—you probably won’t want to share that one. If you're after more classic pub fare, head to the front bar for noms like jaffles, new wave fish and chips or one of the best beef burgers going around with pickles and jack cheese. Nom.

Sonoma Cafe

Sonoma is where you come to carb-load without any of that silly guilt stuff. A Sydney cafe where the side helping of bread is as much the main event, as is their long list of home-style meals. Definitely take a morning bun with you for the road.

Ampersand Cafe & Bookstore

Over 300 books line the walls at this Paddington cafe, making it a great find when dining for one. With top-notch coffee and a whole list of scrumptious comfort food on offer, including pastas and our ultimate favourite, fresh baked goods.

Four In Hand by Guillaume

The perfect mix of elegancy and novelty are on offer at Paddington pub Four In Hand by Guillame. With Brahimi in the kitchen this Sydney pub has taken their famous Sunday roast to the next level, and by next, we mean the best in Sydney.

10 William St

Italian food and wine at it’s finest is on the menu at 10 William Street. Perfect for sharesies, prepare those buds for antipasti, traditional pastas and all the seafood your belly can handle.

Flow Athletic

Flow Athletic is the best place for any indecisive workout slashie who doesn’t feel that they should have to choose between yoga and intense circuit workouts. They do it all, with boxing, flow yoga and even Broga—yoga for bros. They even do classes that combine yoga and spin classes, so you can get the best of everything every time you go. The culture here is also pretty special since it could not be further from your average soulless gym, and in fact, they’ll even learn your name (novel idea, we know).

Lip Lab

Lipstick has become a huge thing recently (cheers Kylie Jenner), but finding the right colour can be one of life’s biggest challenges. Whether that’s because you just can’t be bothered searching high and low, or just don’t know what suits you is irrelevant because Lip Lab is a personalised experience where consultants will help you choose, mix and apply your own shades, so you won’t risk looking like a clown. This is the place where you’ll finally find the ‘your lips but better’ shade that is uniquely you.

Beach Street Tanning

By now we all know that sitting out in the sun for hours on end is not the goods. It’s bad for your skin and really, it’s just bad for your health—plus, try as we might, some of us will never manage to bag ourselves an actual tan. On arrival at Beach Street Tanning, you will be handed a glass of bubbly while you discuss your tanning needs with a consultant. They’ll whip up a personal tan prescription that is custom to you and your skin and then it’s off to the tanning suite!

Paddington Markets

Rain, hail or shine, the Paddington Markets pop up every single Saturday at 10am and have done since 1973. It started as a market to encourage local fashion designers, jewellery makers and artists and has grown into a 150-stall market that still celebrates the designers that sell exclusively at the markets. There are new traders each week in addition to the international food court, where you’ll find handmade chocolates, local bread and seriously good coffee, so grab one and stroll through for a perfectly chilled Saturday morning.

The Corner Shop

The Corner Shop in Paddington is where all of the luxury fashion labels come to hang out. There are labels like Aquazzura, Kenzo, Helmut Lang and Givenchy, just to name a few of the many, many brands that adorn the racks in this store. The Corner Shop provides a curated collection with a few key pieces hand-selected from each designer, so you won’t be seeing your outfit walking past you on the street.

Incu Paddington Mens

Incu Paddington prides themselves on stocking premium fashion pieces and this particular store is dedicated to men’s fashion only. It can be really hard shopping for men’s clothes sometimes, with only a small selection of clothing and Incu felt your pain, which is why that isn’t the case here, since the sprawling space is all about the bros. Here you’ll find designers like Acne Studios, Sarah & Sebastian and Kinfolk.

Jac + Jack

Jac + Jack is the ultimate combination of comfortable and chic, with their relaxed silhouettes that work for both men and women and range of neutrals and muted toned clothing. They source all of their premium yarns and materials from ethical sources and the same goes for the manufacturing processes, from textile mills to spinners. They're especially good with cashmere and you know what they say, once you’ve done cashmere, you’ll never go back (or at least we say that).

Pollenation Floral Design

Nothing says “I’ve really got my life in order” like going out and buying fresh blooms to decorate your house with. You’ll recognise Pollenation Floral Design's storefront by the lush greenery, partially obscuring the front of their terrace. They've been looking after the floral needs of the Paddington people for over 15 years, so they really know their stuff.
