Dips and wine are the perfect combination for every ladies night, date night, or just a regular (you totally deserve it) #treatyoself night out. Luckily for us Sydneysiders our glorious city has plenty of options for this match made in foodie heaven.

Here are our picks for the best spots to indulge a vino or two, and a cheeky nibble. So grab your gals, pals, or significant others and get ready for some of Sydney's best sipping and dipping.

This Middle Eastern hotspot in the heart of Glebe plates up some dangerously good dishes, perfect for sharsies (seriously, the burnt butter hummus is what dreams are made of). Say goodbye to late night kebabs and hello to LFC (Lebanese fried chicken), BBQ broccolini, and Cloudy Bay clams. All of which just so happen to go perfectly with the delicious cocktails inspired by the unique flavours of the Middle East and of course, their wine list.

Turkish lovers and wine enthusiasts rejoice! Efendy in Balmain is the perfect place for your next night out. The menu is a mix of urban and traditional influences that plates up a truly authentic Turkish experience. The meze board is our pick with its daily-changing selections that include the likes of pomegranate and capsicum hummus, smoky babaghanoush and house-made labne with dukkah. With an extensive menu and wine list on offer, rally the troops and head out for a Turkish feast STAT.

Sultan’s Table

No one does dips quite like the Turkish, and Sultan’s Table do them especially well. Their mixed dip plate is the perfect way to kick off the night alongside some fine wines (these guys are BYO). With parsley, jajik (garlic), chilli, beetroot, carrot, spinach, eggplant, hummus and babaganush, there’s no shortage of colourful and tasty dips to smother all over their tasty oven-baked Turkish bread.

Cafe Shenkin

You know a recipe is good when it's passed down through the generations and that’s exactly what’s on the menu at Shenkin. Evolved from the founders’ Israeli and European heritage, and upgraded with a few modern twists, this one is tasty. With a “date plate”, hummus plate and a range of sharing platters available, these guys have you covered for a great night out. And with locations across Sydney everyone can get their Shenkins fix.

Stanbuli is none other than a Turkish delight (see what we did there?) hidden inside an old hairdressing shop on Enmore road. The team here have one of the best offerings of traditional Turkish meze in town with with delectable dips and dishes like the lightly fried crispy zucchini flowers filled with ricotta, feta and spinach. Sound good? Wait till you see it! The decor and dishes are stunning AF, meaning this spot is perfect for your instafeed.

An inner west favourite, Jasmin1 is well loved for a reason. Everything on the menu is made in-house and boy is it tasty! The dip selection is seriously drool-worthy, boasting some of Sydney's best lebneh, garlic, yogurt and cucumber, hummus and baba ghanoush dips. While they don’t serve alcohol, BYO is welcome and who doesn't love a good BYO.

The Apollo

Potts Point

The Apollo bar and restaurant serves up Greek food as legendary as the Gods. With a menu designed to share, it’s the perfect spot for wine and nibbles. The sample menu features tasty dishes like the grilled calamari with sumac chilli and oven baked lamb shoulder with Greek lemon yoghurt. And a must have is the house-made and freshly baked pita bread, with dip of course. To complete our perfect combo, the drinks list is extensive and offers all the wine, beer, and cocktails you can handle.

Bondi Hardware

A favourite amongst Bondi locals (and anyone else who is lucky enough to have been), Bondi Hardware is the perfect spot for a night of wining and dipping. The bustling bar and restaurant features a share-style menu complete with sliders, charred octopus and our personal favourite the baked artichoke dip (this is a must!). Not to be outdone by the food, the wine list will ensure you never go thirsty and have just the drop to chase down that delectable dip.

Beta Bar

Promising to deliver a menu of authentic Greek meza plates, Beta Bar in the CBD is a perfect addition to your list. With a menu that’s made for sharing, and a cocktail list that delivers classics with a Greek twist, Beta is a gift from the Gods. The space features exposed brick walls, with an ancient-Greek vibe, that perfectly compliments the authentic Greek food. We can’t go past the taramasalata and popcorn sweetbreads with zhoug skordalia dip (which tastes like the world’s best creamy pesto). Or if you’re feeling adventurous, give the skewered octopus tentacles with two types of split-pea dip a whirl.

Sefa Kitchen

Sefa Kitchen in Bondi delivers refined Middle Eastern food that packs a tasty punch. The adana lamb skewers with house made pickles and hummus is a food lovers dream, and (you guessed it) the perfect accompaniment to one of the many wines on offers.

Emma’s Snack Bar

Emma’s Snack Bar in Enmore (re)opened and ditched the formal menu to create a casual, share-styled setting that provides some of the best Lebanese food our great city has on offer. Hummus is where the heart is and these guys have stolen our hearts with their gloriously creamy hummus. With more than one delicious flavours to try (we recommend the spicy) and soft pita bread to help you do it, Emma’s is a dip-lovers dream.
