Mardi Gras is on the horizon and if you missed the banter, this year’s official party will don some of the biggest performers around. The lineup includes 10 killer shows, 20 DJs and three immersive worlds for all the glitter antics.
On the music front you’ll find Jake Shears (of Scissor Scissors), Courtney Act, HANDSOME, Paul Capsis and House of Slé featuring PNAU and DJ legends Boris from Berlin’s Berghain nightclub and Late Night Tuff Guy.
This year at Sydney’s Mardi Gras you can expect three different immersive worlds:
The Royal Hall of Industries at Centennial Park will be transformed into the Neon Playground, a fluoro-pop-inspired wonderland featuring Kim Petras, PNAU, Courtney Act and Briefs.
The Black Palace
The Hordern Pavilion will be renamed The Black Palace this year manifesting into the Berlin underground club scene meets the Palace of Versailles. Headling this Mardi Gras underworld will be Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters and local favourites Paul Capsis and House of Slé.
Max Watt’s at the Entertainment Quarter will get an all-out disco and salon-type makeover featuring a heap of giant fluffy powder puffs filling the dancefloor. You’ll also score a makeover from the Powder Puff Pamper Poodles and sets from The Dollar Bin Darlings, Charlie Villas and Hip Hop Hoe.
