While banana bread may not be the most on trend of foods, it's still one of our all-time favourites.  We can't think of a better way to spend our days than nibbling away on some deliciously warm and fresh banana bread - with lots of butter, of course! Chase the afternoon blues away and tuck into some banana bread at some of the best cafes in Sydney.

Bread & Circus | Alexandria

Bread & Circus in Alexandria has caught our eye (and for good reason) with their daily menu offering up an incredible and ever-changing array of brekkie and lunchtime options. The menu is modified each day reflecting seasonal produce availability and the chefs' cooking whims, meaning there's always something new and exciting to try! However, we just can't go past the toasted spiced banana bread made with spelt flour, cardamom and cinnamon and served with a healthy dose of soft set raw honey and organic butter (queue drooling). We're not going to lie, we go all out and get the extra ricotta too!

O Organic Produce Cafe | Surry Hills

We already love O Organic Produce Café in Surry Hills for it's organic, fresh and healthy menu options but now we love it even more for the toasted gluten free banana bread served with seasonal jam. Feel good that you're supporting local, organic farmers whilst tucking into some of the best homemade banana bread we've come across.

Single Origin | Surry Hills

Enter the coffee-crazed, very cool industrial space that is Single Origin Roasters in Surry Hills. This caffeinated crew offers great coffee and coffee beans for a DIY at home coffee but did you know about the banana bread? Served with espresso butter, we can't imagine many things that are better than this!

Anvil Coffee Co | Kirribilli

Nestled into Sydney's gorgeous suburb of Kirribilli, Anvil Coffee Company is located on the water's edge at the ferry wharf and boasts gorgeous views overlooking the harbour. The view is to die for, as is the food and we recommend tasting their warm homemade banana bread!

Hoochie Mama Cafe | Newtown

A favourite among uni students and those in the know, Hoochie Mama Cafe's menu has attitude to boot. To be honest, we want everything on the menu and choosing is always a drawn out affair. BUT, the aim of this week's game is banana bread and Hoochie Mama's gluten-free toasted banana bread with melted butter will send you into banana bread heaven.

Barzura | Coogee

This beachside institution is currently celebrating its 20th birthday. With its fantastic food and coffee plus good wine and great service, we can understand why Barzura is such a success story. Whether it is for brekkie, an afternoon  snack or even dessert, the fresh daily-homemade banana and blueberry bread with walnut butter is scrumptious. Get in quick, as it always (with a capital A) sells out very quickly!

Clipper Cafe | Glebe

Oozing Glebe Point Road cool, the Clipper Café is adorable, featuring a green and white striped awning and all sorts of knick-knacks adorning the walls. The coffee is good but Clipper definitely earns its spot on this week's list with its simply delightful, two-thumbs up toasted banana bread with honey and ricotta. You'll spot this café by its line of students and locals all pressing for a table!
