While a trip to Japan for cherry blossom season this year would have been basically impossible, and probably will be for the foreseeable future, The Rook has set up an otherworldly cherry blossom garden so you can beam yourself there in spirit (with pink cocktails and bottomless dumplings too).
The Rook’s super ‘Gram-ready rooftop cherry blossom set-up was originally installed in March—but yes, it has reopened and is now taking bookings.
As for what’s in store for your visit to this frosty pink paradise, there's a bunch of new Japanese-inspired bites to try, like a soft shell crab burger with wasabi mayo and Japanese slaw, loaded gyoza with furikake, tonkotsu sauce, kewpie and bonito flakes and a black sesame cheesecake.
They've also gone all-out with a list of marshmallow-pink cocktails too. The "Hello Kitty" is made with Jinzu gin, cherry blossom syrup and lime, and the "Wasabi Pea Old Fashioned" features Fuyu whisky, Sakura vermouth, wasabi syrup and plum bitters.
On Saturdays, it's a cherry blossom bottomless brunch (of course it is). Saddle up for $49 per person and enjoy five sweet courses (including karaage chicken bites with golden curry mayo
and Japanese loaded fries). And yes! This one includes two hours of pink wine.
At lunchtime, you'll be in for bottomless dumplings with your choice of beer or wine for $59 per person. The Rook's live jazz sets will return soon too.
