Spritz Month

Sydney summer runs on spritzes, so this January, Applejack Hospitality is spotlighting local Aussie legends with a tight trio: a pink-hued Tanica Native Plum Spritz, a citrus-charged Brookie’s Sundrift Orange Spritz, and the zesty Unico Zelo Limoncello Spritz.
Sip them across SoCal, The Butler, Taphouse, Bopp & Tone, Forrester’s, RAFI North Sydney, RAFI URBNSURF, Opera Bar and The Botanist from 6 to 31 January.
Club 77 January Lineup

Roll into the new year with Club 77’s stacked summer lineup. The January program locks in a full-spectrum month of club music on Thursdays to Sundays every week.
Thursdays are for long-form local sets like Lex Barlin on 8 January, while Fridays are fueled by high-energy takeovers like Chuleo Club on 9 January featuring Zalina, Kilimi, Nay Nay, Maz and Sandro on the decks.
Saturdays stay resident-led with standouts Mazzacles and Disruptive Pattern Material on 10 January, and Sundays round things out with Control featuring Bloody Mary, Estée Louder and La Figa on 11 January.
Macquarie Ice Rink

With the heat dialled all the way up this weekend, Macquarie Ice Rink’s re-opening couldn’t have come at a better time. An inner-city institution since 1981, the Olympic-sized rink spent most of 2025 undergoing a multi-million-dollar glow-up—and now it’s officially back. Expect a pristine new ice surface, slick tech upgrades and modern amenities.
They also have a disco session every Friday and Saturday night from 8.30pm to 10.30pm. Including skate hire, all session tickets are $32 for adults, $29 for students, $28 for children under 16 years and $12 for children under 5 years with a paying adult.
Pickleball At South Eveleigh

Pickleball is popping up at South Eveleigh this summer. From 6 January to 1 February, Innovation Plaza transforms into a social, high-energy pickleball hub. Jump into beginner-friendly, instructor-led 45-minute lessons on Wednesdays and Saturdays for $10pp, or swing by for free-play sessions daily between 7.30am to 7.30pm. Whether you’re learning the ropes or rallying with friends, it’s a great way to spend your weekend in Sydney.
Garrigarrang Badu
Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House | Friday 9–Saturday 10 January

Garrigarrang Badu premieres at Sydney Festival this January, performed by Jannawi Dance Clan at the Sydney Opera House. Written entirely in Dharug language and led by artistic director Peta Strachan, the work traces Country from saltwater to freshwater, honouring women as carriers of story, language and culture. Blending traditional and contemporary movement, the all-female ensemble brings together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women from across Australia.
Performances run Friday 9 January from 6.30pm and Saturday 10 January from 1pm and 6.30pm, followed by 60-minute post-show talks featuring a special Dharug Knowledge Holders Panel. Tickets start at $53pp.

Drop In Pottery At CeeCee Studios

The Island’s Summer Season is in full swing, with five-hour parties from 3pm until sunset every Saturday. Expect next-level DJs, cocktails and unbeatable harbour views at Sydney’s favourite floating bar. The courtyard hosts a rotating lineup of vinyl DJs and live soul, funk, and blues sets every weekend, curated by Jordan McDonald (NITE-RITE Entertainment).
On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 5pm, expect groovy DJ sets—think rare beats, funk cuts and soulful classics to get the courtyard buzzing. The vibes will be staying high across the whole weekend, wrapping up your week on a high note.
Mary's Weekend Brunch & Bottomless

Mary's VX has launched an epic brunch and bottomless menu for an ideal weekend feed. Co-founder Jake Smyth reckons this is one "worth crossing town on the Metro for"—sky-high pancake stacks, brekkie burgers, unlimited spicy pickle margaritas (don't knock them until you've tried them) and bottomless filter coffee to keep the old man going. The bottomless menu comes in at a pretty $55 per person, or you can keep things breezy and order à la carte.
Bennelong In 45 Minutes

There's certainly no fast-track to a luxury lifestyle, but Bennelong is doing its best—this $50pp experience speed-runs sophistication in a 45-minute session, offering three refined bar snacks and a signature cocktail. Ideal for those needing a quick pre-theatre snack or just short of time, the dishes are drawn from Bennelong's pre-existing menu—Maremma duck pithivier with black garlic; Wagyu bresaola panisse, brown butter aioli; Chestnut, truffle and shiitake arancini; and much more. Head in from 5.30pm onwards, and you can experience the best seat in the harbour for a palatable price.
