Skip The Chores This Weekend With This New App For Sydney’s Best Cleaning Services

A clean and minimal dinner table with a bonsai plant on top, surrounded by white seats.

Gone are the days where you’d skim the local classifieds for a cleaner, make a call, and hope to the heavens above that they’d do a decent job. The advent of rating systems means we’re almost guaranteed a good job when booking a service professional, but sometimes it’s easier just to go straight to the 4 stars and above section, and that’s why you’ll only find 4.4 ratings and above on Urban Company.

Regardless of the task you’d prefer someone else to do, you’re guaranteed a pro with the extensive vetting process that each service partner goes through before starting with Urban Company. About 10% of applicants are accepted, who then need to uphold that 4.4 star rating at minimum.

You can more or less get anything you need done around the home with the app, but its real value comes into play for those tasks like end-of-lease cleans that can’t be half-assed. Busy sharehouses can also rejoice in booking a cleaner on the reg to keep every flatmate happy.

While you’ll find a plethora of cleaning professionals on Urban Company, you can also book in those generalist handymen and women who can mount that TV sitting awkwardly on the coffee table, or decipher the instructions to even the most difficult of flatpack furniture pieces.

Urban Company has also taken a look at how to make the payment structures fairer given that different people work at different speeds. So for jobs like cleaning, you’ll be paying per room rather than per hour.

Download the app here and see if you can’t find a service expert for that job you keep putting off.

And seeing as you're not cleaning the house this weekend, why not take Good Pair Days' personalised wine quiz and order yourself some delicious wine?

Editor's note: Urban List editors independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. Urban List has affiliate partnerships, so we get revenue from your purchase.
