From tantalising food events to extraordinary art and film, this week in Sydney is packed with fabulous things to keep you on your feet.

Monday 2nd

Margarita Mondays

Sydney's newest Mexican eatery, El Topo, is offering $10 margaritas on a Monday. Pair your margarita with some fresh, spicy Mexican fare (fried crickets anyone?) such as kingfish tacos, zucchini flower quesadillas, or chipotle chargrilled prawns—it's all delicious! Plus, the menu is 100 per cent gluten free.

Thursday 5th

Shrink My Serve

Red Lantern on Riley is promoting light, summer eating by offering Shrink My Serve—half portions, at half the price. Choose from flavoursome Vietnamese specialties such as: kaffir lime prawn and coconut-filled crepes; green papaya salad with twice-cooked pork belly; or lightly battered chilli salted squid. Available lunch only, from midday Thursday and Friday.

Friday 6th

Food Trucks United

Head down to Belmore Park for a night of diverse and delicious culinary delights, from some of Australia's best food trucks. From 5pm-10pm, Belmore Park will be transformed via live music, emerging artists, and a pop-up drink and dessert bar. Head to Agapé Organic for some scrumptious spelt pizza, or get your hands on a hearty veggie burger and falafels from the Veggie Patch.

Saturday 7th

America: Painting a Nation

See the art that defined a nation at The Art Gallery NSW's newest exhibition America: Painting a Nation. More than 80 works traverse over 200 years of rich history (from 1750 to 1966), with a number of masterpieces shown here for the first time in Australia. The works have come from four major institutions in the US, including paintings by well-known artists such as Edward Hopper, Mark Rothko, Mary Cassatt, Georgia O'Keeffe and Jackson Pollock.

Sunday 8th

Icebergs Terrace Café

The Icebergs Terrace Café has become a summer fixture down at Bondi, and returns to the breathtaking Icebergs' balcony where it will permanently set up shop. The menu is peppered with all sorts of organic breakfast options, and the coffee is spot on. What better way to start your Sunday than surrounded by panoramic ocean views . . .

Tropfest at Centennial Park

Sydney's glorious Centennial Park will play host to an outstanding line-up of highly anticipated film screenings, live music and entertainment, for this year's Tropfest. The entertainment begins at 11am with Trop Jr, which will showcase 16 incredible films from filmmakers aged 15 years and younger. The Tropfest 22 finalist program, based on the signature theme 'Change', will kick off at sunset. Pack a picnic and head down early to secure your seat.
