As we get closer and closer to summer, things are starting to heat up on the weekend. From the exclusive Asahi pop-up bar to Super Furry Festival for you and your pets, there will be plenty of things to do in Sydney this weekend. There may even be a world first in store for us! This is definitely one weekend not to be spent on the couch.
The Grounds By The Sea Pop-Up
This Thursday sees the combination of two of our favourite places – The Grounds Of Alexandria and the coast. Marks Park is the perfect spot to spend the afternoon and The Grounds of Alexandria will be running a pop-up eatery for your enjoyment. So why not take a walk and a sip along one of Sydney's most beautiful coastal walks and prepare to have your mind blown by some amazing art with Sculpture by the Sea. The "Grounds by the Sea" will be open 7am – 7pm daily from October 23rd to November 9th.
Fitness First Free Fitness Week
Looking for a reason to get back into the fitness craze leading up to summer? Get fit for FREE this entire week with - sounds good to us! Asahi Super Dry Extra Cold Bar
It's the Japanese beer that us Aussies love and now an exclusive pop-up bar is coming to Sydney! Located at 37 Bligh Street in the CBD, the temporary bar is giving beer lovers the opportunity to taste Asahi Super Dry and Asahi Super Dry Black - poured fresh, at sub-zero temperatures – brrr! Can't get down there this Friday? Stress less, The Asahi Super Dry Extra Cold Bar will be open to the public until Friday 23rd January 2015 so you can enjoy its ice-cold goodness over the warmer summer months.
Super Furry Festival
Calling all animal lovers! For things to do in Sydney that involve your furry friend, pay a visit to the Super Furry Festival and prepare for a day filled with cuddles, licks and love at Shannon Reserve in Surry Hills. It's all for a good cause as well with the event showcasing Sydney's animal welfare and pet rescue organisations to raise awareness. There will be a variety of activities for you and your rescue baby to enjoy including: a pooch smooch-kissing booth, animal face painting, pin the tail on the cut out cat and much more. It's homewares and home buying with a bit of a twist. Design duo C+M Studio have bought, renovated and filled this home with the work of local artists and designers. Need a new dining chair? A table? Or just paintings to brighten up your living room? Well this is the place to go – you can literally browse and buy anything in the house – including the house itself! You'll feel like you've just walked in to the pages of a design magazine, the only difference… you can walk out with a bunch of cool stuff! Sip & Savour Craft Beer Festival
It's time to put your beer tasting skills to the test! In celebration of Sydney Craft Beer Week, this Saturday Carriageworks will be hosting a craft beer experience like no other. The Sip & Savour Craft Beer Festival will kick off at 11:30am with more than 250 craft beers and ciders for you to indulge in from brewers all around Australia. And what's beer without some knockout food? Expect to see an array of pop-up eateries including our favourite Mumu Grill! Had enough of craft beer week yet? We didn't think so! It is time for a beer change-up though, so why not see how the Brits do craft beer? The multi-award winning The Local Taphouse's specialty beer bars will be showcasing the best of British craft beers at the Great British SpecTAPular. Head to the Local Taphouse in Darlinghurst to delight yourself and see what the English lads know about beer. Mexican Pop-Up Fairfield RSL
Hola to all the senoras and senoritas out there! Satisfy your Mexican cravings at the Pequena Cantina pop-up eatery at Fairfield RSL. Open for three nights only, the temporary Mexican restaurant features a feast of food including: ceviche tostadas (a zesty combination of seafood, lime juice, tomatoes, coriander and jalepeños), a selection of soft tacos (spicy Yucatecan beef, fish and smoked shredded pork), chipotle shrimp and more – yum!
