It's the time of year when interstate hostilities are at an all time high, beer is chugged by the gallon, and pubs all over emanate cries of the infuriated and the elated. While the Swans and Hawthorn play it off, you need to get your game plan sorted – burgers in a beer garden, or risotto by a plasma screen? Whatever it is, we've got you covered.

Hunters Hill Hotel | Hunters Hill

With glossy, wood-paneled interiors and abundant space for a frantic crowd, the newly refurbished Hunter's Hill Hotel (and its huge plasma screens) has all your viewing needs covered. Grab an aged sirloin or a caramelised onion wagyu beef burger while you watch.

Alexandria Hotel | Alexandria

Drink the night away in a spacious beer garden while you watch the game projected onto one huge screen. Opt for a classic beer or cider on tap, or down a few classic cocktails while you cheer on your team (Swans, of course!).

Light Brigade Hotel | Woollahra

Art deco and technology meet in this historic institution with a 103 inch plasma screen. Share calamari, aioli fries and beef sliders, or chow down a house-crumbed schnitzel and rump steak on your own. $25 cocktail jugs are also available to complement the festivities.

Beach Road Hotel | Bondi

Known for its beer, crowd and general ambience of fire and gusto, head over to the Beach Road Hotel if you're looking for a night to yell yourself hoarse. There are BBQ wings and meaty fajitas for sustenance all night long.

Courthouse Hotel | Darlinghurst

A long-time establishment on the corner of Bourke, Flinders and Oxford Street, let your team colours fly proudly at this classic Darlo pub. While you throw down a few beers, fill up on some pub food classics like fish and chips, or bangers and mash.

The Unicorn Hotel | Paddington

The beloved watering hole for the soldiers and sailors of yesteryear, The Unicorn Hotel's recent renovation sees bright interiors punctuated by occasional throwbacks to the past. Grab some 50 cent wings, $12 jugs and watch the game on their massive HD screens. Whether your team wins or loses, there'll be free hot dogs after the game which essentially makes everyone a winner.

The Royal | Leichhardt

Operating since 1886, The Royal has seen many a grand final in its time. Pair your viewing session with a generous chicken parmy, or opt for the iconic Royal pot pie with lamb braised in merlot.

Golden Sheaf Hotel | Double Bay

Gather round the big screen in the spacious beer garden for an unmissable evening. Relax with a meal from the award-winning bistro, where fresh seafood is the name of the game. Classic grilled meats are also on the menu for those in search of something heartier.

Dick's Hotel | Balmain

This Balmain institution will be playing the game live and loud on all 12 of their screens. Doors open at 11.30 and food will be served all day (to keep your energy levels up). It's going to be a big on at Dick's Hotel!

Rosehill Gardens | Rosehill

Head down to Rosehill on Saturday for an afternoon filled with sports. At Rosehill Gardens, you can watch live horse racing AND watch the AFL Grand Final all in one place. Ladies, if the AFL isn't your thing, pay a visit to the Pamper Lounge where you can get free hair and make up touch-ups. Nice!
