Ask anyone on the Gold Coast where they reckon you can find some of the city’s, nay the country’s best pastries, and they’ll tell you to make a beeline for Bam Bam Bakehouse.
And to be honest, we whole heartedly agree.
This Mermaid Beach patisserie serves up moreish, slightly addictive, Insta-worthy concoctions on the daily. Let us not forget the Ferrero Rocher choux bomb, the ANZAC cookie twice baked croissant, the Twix eclairs…soz, we just passed out from pure food joy for a moment there.
Luckily for us, the pastry king and queen behind Bam Bam, soon to be opened Cubby Bakehouse and Neptune Kiosk, Ursula and Ben Watts, have cottoned on to our insatiable love of their sweet treats (and let’s be honest, their epic brunch menu—karaage chicken bowl anyone?) and have opened an awesome pop-up. Yep, we told you this was massive news.
The sweet new digs are located in the recently vacated cafe space at the front of the Tallebudgera Recreational Centre— just around the corner from the beach. The rad little pop-up will be pumping out Bam Bam faves from 7am till 3pm, seven days a week. Yep, you read that right people, you can get your fix, DAILY. Expect daily pastry drops from Bam Bam as well as delish bacon and egg rolls, haloumi burgers, the Burleigh cheeseburger (you gotta get in quick for this one, it's a constant sell out) and frozen mango bowls with granola. Oh and of course heavenly coffee and shakes.
The pop-up will only be around for one month but never fear, the team have something pretty damn magical happening there later in the year. That’s all we can reveal for now, but we’ll be back later for a tasty look inside. RIP to our summer bikini bod.
