If you’ve been dreaming of a Bali getaway or a European jaunt but your funds just can’t get you there, we’ve got good news because an awesome day club has opened on the Coast and it’s serving up pure holiday vibes.

Say hello to Driftwood Social.

After quietly opening their doors earlier this year, you’d be forgiven for driving straight past this special spot. The restaurant, bar and pool club is tucked behind the Vibe Hotel on Ferny Ave, but the second you step foot inside you’ll feel like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise.

The sprawling space, which backs on to the Nerang River, is a secluded tropical paradise with hanging greenery, poolside cabanas, lounge areas, loads of dinning space and a large bar.

The entire venue is designed to ensure equal measures of fun and relaxation with jumbo lawn games and inflatable flamingos floating in the pool, while acoustic live music sets deliver a chilled-out vibe.

And while the view and setting alone are a drawcard, the food here is equally as good. With a mix of snacks, small and larger plates we recommend snagging a cabana and ordering a bunch of eats so ensure you reach maximum chill mode.

Start with zingy grilled fish tacos and the cauliflower salad with mixed grains and goats curd.  For something a little heartier try the melt-in-your-mouth ox cheek with thyme crouton and radish salad or the Driftwood Burger with a Cape Grim beef patty topped with bacon, gruyere cheese and pickled chilli. Then, wash it all down with an Aperol Spritz or Bellini. There’s also a large selection of local and international beers, wine and sparkling to keep thirst at bay. So, you can settle in for a full day waterside.

They also hold, Friyay Funday where every Friday from 5pm you can enjoy fresh tunes, as well as $12 cocktails and $5 wines. And you’ll want to book in for their Sunday Social where you can grab $30 beer buckets, $25 Sangria jugs, $15 meal deals (including fish and chips, burgers and fries or ploughman boards) plus jumbo lawn games from 11am. Sounds like a winner to us.

Driftwood Social is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11am.
