What isn’t there to love about food trucks? They’re adorable to look at, pop up at the best events, and provide mouth-watering noms on the go. Yep, we’re hooked, so when we found out there was a whole festival celebrating them on the Coast this weekend, well, we did a little happy dance and reached for our elasticated pants.
Kicking off this Friday from 5pm at the Broadwater Parklands, The Food Truck Carnival Co. rolls into town, hosting over 25 food trucks. Oh yea, we were born for this festival. Picture this: three whole days dedicated to pure food truck indulgence—we’re getting the food sweats just thinking about it.
Nearly every cuisine you could dream of will be on display, from Italian and German to Irish, Greek, Cuban, Asian and everything in between. Pretty much anything worth drooling over will be there.
The line-up includes gems like Food Kartel, Little Havana, Whips And Co and The Fish Club. You’ll absolutely want to wrap your chompers around Bao Brothers and their seriously delish bao buns. We’re particularly keen on their Notorious P.I.G with braised pork, pickled cucumber, hoisin and peanut praline. We’re not drooling, you are! And be sure to add in a serve of their loaded sweet potato fries because you only live once.
For some finger-licking goodness, you have to pay Kings Of The Wings a visit. Their American-style wings come in five different flavours and are oh so succulent. They’re totally worth the mess you’ll make devouring them. Or, ya know, just bring a bib. No judgement here.
To wash down all this glorious food, there will be three bars on site as well as live music, DJs and a silent disco to help you burn off that extra portion of spring rolls you know you’re going to order. And to cap off the festival there will even be a fireworks display.
We’ll see you there.
