While we love a greasy pad Thai on a lazy Sunday night, sometimes you just can’t beat fresh, authentic flavours and that’s exactly what Broadbeach newbie Nahm Kitchen and Bar is slinging seven days a week.
Located on the popular foodie strip outside The Oasis, this Thai eatery is all about showcasing local produce and pairing them with Thai flavours.
Led by Chef Theemachit Chit Kaen (aka Coke), Nahm Kitchen and Bar brings an exciting and innovative twist to classic Thai cuisine.
“’Nahm’ in Thai means ‘water’,” explains Coke. “The name flows perfectly with our concept to deliver food that can take on any form—a progressive Thai dining experience that has no boundaries.”
“We source much of our produce locally and make all sauces and dishes from scratch in-house. I love experimenting with ingredients and building upon Thai classics.”
The menu includes a tasty mix of share-style plates and larger dishes, so we recommend bringing a crew and a healthy appetite.
Some of the highlights include the Massaman curry with slow roasted beef short rib, potato, cumin and cashew nut, the crispy roasted pork with sweet tamarind, pickle green apple, coriander, chilli and the Choo Chee curry with hearty smoked lamb cutlets.
Seafood lovers with drool over the crispy barramundi fillet with lychee, pineapple and chili, and the oconut prawns with caramelised coconut, ginger and lime.
Leave some room for dessert because the mango sorbet with sticky rice and peanut, and the coconut panna cotta with chocolate soil, are as delicious as they are beautiful to look at.
Tipple-wise, expect local brews like Black Hops and a large selection of wines, all perfectly matched to the food. Just ask bar master Carlos Mossieira and he’ll sort you out.
Namh Kitchen and Bar is open 11am to 9pm, all week long.
