We’ve said this many times of late, but damn Gold Coast, how’d we get so lucky?
New restaurants and cafés have been popping up like daisies these past few years, but this, this is massive. The Coast’s shopping icon, Pacific Fair, who turns a modest 40 years old next year, is nearing the end of a mind-blowing $670 million expansion that has increased its footprint and number of retail stores by close to 50 per cent.
We’re already loving the many new and upgraded stores, the sprawling gourmet food deli, and the classy new dining precinct, The Patio. But all this pales in comparison when tomorrow, Thursday, May 5, sees the much-anticipated unveiling of the re-development’s stunning centrepiece, the indoor-outdoor plaza affectionately known as “The Resort”.
Metropolist got a sneaky peek behind the cloaked walls last week and, folks, it’s safe to say you’ll be picking your jaw up off the floor. A whole swag of new stores will be opening tomorrow, and to keep the excitement building, additional retail outlets will continue to pop open their doors as the weeks progress.
For those with a serious shopping addiction, there are some uber luxe brands headed our way too… so, you have been warned!
Here’s just a taste of stores opening tomorrow:
H&M UNIQLO
David Jones Kit & Ace
Janine Edwards sass & bide
Superdry Tommy Guns Barbers
Dion Lee Kate Spade
Coach
Additional stores to open over the coming weeks include:
Tiffany & Co. Manning Cartell
Zimmermann Carla Zampatti
Givenchy Gucchi
Chanel Max Mara
Aje Alpha 60
Ginger & Smart Maje
Gorman Scanlan Theodore
Sneakerboy Mecca Maxima
Joining new retailers recently opened such as:
Jurlique Lululemon Atheletica
Honey Birdette Oscar Oscar
Now we’ll say it again, this is NOT an exhaustive list, so head down to Pacific Fair and discover all manner of surprises for yourself.
For those who’ve made it this far and see there’s still no mention of Sephora. WTF, we hear you say! We will continue to speculate, as we also know this is not all the good news Pacific Fair has to share with us this year.
In the meantime, throw on your marathon shopping shoes and get ready to skip your way through the Gold Coast’s magical new retail playground. And don’t miss the opp to grab a selfie with Pacific Fair’s three-metre high white Hollywood-esque signage on Hooker Boulevard, on the way out.
