things to do on the sunshine coast

Although the temperature is starting to fade, there’s no end in sight for things to do and see around the Gold Coast. From giant plant sales to mussel festivals and massive sporting events, the first month of autumn is shaping up to be a biggie,

So, if you’re looking for ways to welcome in the new season, or just want to celebrate the fact that summer never really ends around here, then be sure to work your way through this hit list of the best things to do on the Gold Coast in March.

Jungle Collective Warehouse Sale

There’s a very simple premise behind the Jungle Collective Warehouse Sale: stuff a large building full with delightful indoor plants and sell them for not much. And we’re not talking old and ugly varieties found barely alive next to computer screens all around the nation. We mean lush, green mini-forests! There’ll be a focus on air-purifying plants and proceeds flowing to bushfire relief.
When: Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 March; from 8am and 10am respectively
Where: 10/15 John Duncan Court, Varsity Lakes

Infamous The Show

If your adults-only eyes are in need of a good dose of ‘cabaret cirque sensation’, then Infamous The Show is the spectacle, no, experience for you. Another outrageous production under the Spiegeltent, this naughty little mix of cabaret, circus and bare-skin promises to dazzle you with all things 18+.

There’ll also be a licensed bar and plenty of stalls where you can stock up on all things chilli, plus dogs are welcome on leads, so you can bring the whole fam.

GC Laughs Festival at HOTA

Another feather in the cap of HOTA, GC Laughs Festival is delivering a stack of belly-aching, eye-watering, side-splitting giggles to the Gold Coast. Miami Marketta Mussel Festival

Mussels are an underrated wonder of the ocean. Not quite an oyster, not quite a scallop, mussels have their own thing going on, and if you know what’s good for you, you’ll make your way to Miami Marketta on Sunday 15 March and devour as many as you can. Tasty and healthy in their own right, they go down even better with a drink from the Marketta bar.
When: Sunday 15 March; from 12pm
Where: 23 Hillcrest Parade, Miami
For more information, click here.

It’s no secret that the Gold Coast Suns men’s AFL side didn’t fair too well last season. That’s why we’re pinning our hopes on the women in 2020! That’s right, the Suns have an AFLW side and you should definitely get behind them at their next local game against last year’s winners, the Adelaide Crows. It’s free entry too. ]
When: Sunday 22 March, 1:10pm
Where: Fankhauser Reserve (Southport Sharks)
