The days of hunting down one of the Gold Coast’s raddest original food trucks, desperately praying you’ll both rendezvous at the same weekend market or event, are officially (almost) over.
It’s true, you guys would chase this tiny two-wheeled wonder just about anywhere.
So you’ll be pumped to learn that The Weiner Haus, masters of the wildest, most lip-smacking gourmet hot dogs ever to grace our sunny shores, have picked up the keys and are preparing to open a permanent diner mid-March. Hot diggity!
While the legends at The Weiner Haus have kindly given us the full lowdown and location, we’ve been sworn to secrecy—soz, folks. Though to be frank, they’re working on a seriously out-of-the-box concept, developing a funky new addition to the local scene that’s sure to turn some heads.
All your fave gourmet wiener offerings—the jalapeño, sour cream, salsa, and guac-topped Sanchez, the Hawaiian-inspired Magnum P.I., and the Aussie-style Budgie Smuggle—will soon be available from one permanent location, seven days and nights a week. Of course, vegos, vegans, and gluten-free hot dog-lovers will be well looked after too.
We’ve always been impressed by how many dogs fly out of this wee food trailer on the reg, so now, with extra physical room to spread their wings and imagination, The Wiener Haus will be expanding the menu with more experimental smoked Kransky creations, their own twist on loaded fries, ice-cold sodas, radical milkshakes, and some cray desserts which they’re busting with excitement to unleash on the Gold Coast.
Yep, you can leave your guilt at the door.
Just like Paddy and the crew at The Weiner Haus, we want to keep you lot guessing and pondering a little longer. So, while we’re upholding our promise in the interim, when the time arrives, you can rest assured we’ll be right there, ready to point you in the direction of the lad’s tongue-in-cheek humour, good vibes, and the finest damn hot dogs around.
High five, fellas; we can’t wait to watch your new dream come to life!
Where: Can’t tell, sworn to secrecy.
