Okay, it’s not just any old dodgy carpark you guys, this carpark is the home of Messina’s very own HQ, so if there’s anywhere you want to be partying on the first weekend in September, it’s here.
With Spring comes the smell of backyard BBQs and the need to eat more ice-cream, (it’s a fact), and so to really welcome the warm weather, Messina are inviting you to gather your mates for a weekend BBQ at their place followed by, of course, dessert.
If you’re unaccustomed to the Hoy Pinoy offerings, expect to be munching on some of the best Filipino street food you’ll taste, outside of the Philippines, that is. No snags here friends, this event will see the smokey grill slathered with marinated meats to bring you Hoy Pinoy eats like the sisig na baboy, a roasted pork with salsa, or the inihaw na baboy, some seriously divine pork belly skewers and their famous inihaw na mankok- chicken skewers. There’ll also be a few extra delights available just for the event.
And because us Aussies know how to turn the average B-B-Q into an epic barbie, we just have to make room for dessert. There won’t be a pavlova in sight, with Gelato Messina instead serving up their Ube (purple yam) soft serve with jackfruit puree, coconut jellies and puffed rice crunch, served on a flan of caramel custard. DEE-ROOL.
So that’s it, mark the Spring opening weekend in your diaries and prepare your bellies people, because this is just the beginning of the Spring/ Summer silly season in Sydney.
