Sydney is one big maze of delicious dinners, long lunches, boozy brunches and foodie gold waiting to be discovered. We’re pretty excited to see this beating heart of the city slowly re-emerge as we head into June—and one of the latest to announce their comeback is the brilliant Icebergs Dining Room and Bar.

Built into the cliff of South Bondi, this spot is one of the sparkling jewels in Sydney’s crown—its one-in-million view of one of the world’s most famous beaches is backed up with a flawless Italian-inspired menu—one that hasn’t disappointed since Icebergs opened in 2002—and sleek interiors that reflect the brilliant turquoise colour of the waves at Bondi and the iconic ocean pool downstairs.

The restauranteur behind it all is Maurice Terzini, and he’s planned Icebergs’ comeback with a campaign called, “It doesn’t taste like this at home.”

“Over the past two months not only Sydney, Australia, but the world, has seen the hospitality industry rise from the ashes, providing services that have allowed us to live and enjoy as much as we can with life in isolation,” he said.

“However regardless of zoom interactive classes, live streams, pick up or delivery, one thing no one has been able to recreate is the social energy of the environment and engagement that exists within restaurants, bars, clubs and cafes…”

So—as of tomorrow, Friday 29 May, Icebergs will be taking pre-paid bookings for a one-off opening week, which will run from Saturday 1 August through to Sunday 9 August.

Across Icebergs' opening week, limited lunch and dinner bookings will be available alongside a set menu that’ll hero all of the restaurant’s greatest hits.

Think Icebergs’ beef tartare, Koshihikari risotto with blue swimmer crab and Icebergs’signature salt-crusted boneless rib eye served with porcini truffle mustard. For dessert, it's Icebergs pavlova with Malfroy honey, mandarin and Burraduc buffalo milk. You can also add on extras like lobster spaghetti, caviar, oysters and black truffle.
