Sydney’s Biggest Japanese Festival Is Coming

Get set for raw fish, rice and seaweed overload because Sydney’s biggest Japanese festival is coming. Yes team, you fiiiiiiiiinally have a reason to eat your weight in sushi minus any judgey eyes.

For one glorious day only, Matsuri Japan Festival will be taking over Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour and bring a truckload of Japanese food with it. You can expect to stuff yourself silly with miso soup, ramen, unagi, yakitori and allllllll of the tempura, so make sure you prepare accordingly by wearing your stretchiest stretchy pants.

There will be a summer beer garden to kick back in when you need a break from eating, along with traditional dancers, karate and sumo wrestling to keep you entertained until you’re ready for your next snack.
