This September, Sydney is getting a taste for boutique spirits, because standard gins and vodkas are so yesterday.
Lovers of a stiff drink, it’s time to prepare yourself for the night of nights. Hosted by a Sydney favourite, Frankie’s Pizza will be opening its doors for the Indie Tasting, an epic showcase of independent spirits from both local and international distillers, with over 40 suppliers on display and 120 boutique spirits to try. The intimate setting will see guests meet and greet the distillers and attend masterclasses, so you can really up your drinking game, as you taste them all.
Curious about moonshine? Well, brace yourselves, because Young Henry’s Nightsweat Moonshine sure packs a punch. The perfect concoction of malt and rye, with a hint of chocolate and distilled three times – and whilst it may not have come from a bag of fermenting potatoes, the name is intrigue enough for us.
Our Marrickville friends, Poor Tom’s, will also be sharing their new batch of gin and for those who prefer an aperitif, the Gunnery spiced rum 78” gin will be released to the Sydney market for the first time for those who love that old-school Italian bitter orange taste.
There will even be visitors from North Carolina showing us what the U.S boutique distilling industry is all about.
So, grab yourself a pizza and get your shot glasses at the ready for your very own spirit adventure!
