Pack Your Bags | Sydney Restaurateur Sets Up Camp In Bali

By Ange Law - 07 Nov 2016

One of Sydney’s most popular restaurateurs, Maurice Terzini (of Icebergs Dining Room, Da Orazio and The Dolphin Hotel) is packing up and heading off to Bali, so you’ll never be too far from his sweet, sweet Italian fare.

We’re pretty jealous he’s decided to hop across to Bali, instead of just launching Da Maria right here in Sydney, where we can all feast on the delicious menu on the daily. But in case you’re heading over for a summer holiday, psych yourself up for Amalfi-style dishes, like porchetta (whole local pig deboned and marinated with local herbs x spices, cooked slowly over coals), fried sardines (with lemon, orange, almond and extra virgin olive oil) and of course, traditional pizzas.

The bar is also coming up with the goods, offering a concise selection of wine, Italian liqueurs and cocktails. The cocktails have the same Italian spin as the food, with combinations like Appletons VX rum, amaretto, vanilla, mango and lime or Don Julio Blanco tequila with mancino secco, Campari, cinnamon and orange.

There will also be an adjoining fashion boutique, selling Maurice’s label, Ten Pieces, which he created with his partner Lucy Hinkfuss. The pieces have been curated with the balinese lifestyle in mind – unisex, comfortable, affordable and adaptable.

That’s it, we’re booking flights, stat. Meet you at the bar!
