Queens Park Shed Has Opened

By Ellie Schneider - 16 Oct 2013

From Sydney-based restaurant and catering company, Trippas White Group comes their latest venture, the Queens Park Shed—a converted parkland shed with a staggering 125 year history.

The team behind the new eatery certainly know the tools of the trade, with a portfolio spanning: The Restaurant Art Gallery Of New South Wales; Sydney Mint Café; Centennial Parklands Dining; and The Pavilion, to name just a few. The Queens Park Shed is the latest addition to their stable.

The rustic-style interior incorporates elements of contemporary design with subtle throwbacks to the shed's pragmatic past—spades, and spading forks adorn the walls, along with a supply cabinet labelled screws, springs and brass. Large open doors back onto the sunny green.

Serving up breakfast and lunch, and freshly-brewed coffee via Toby's Estate, the menu is a mix of all good things. Noteworthy offerings include: 'the shed' toasted granola and yoghurt; avocado toast with free-range poached egg, vine-ripened tomato and goat's cheese; and the mouthwatering croque-monsieur of Kurobuta ham and Gruyère cheese. For lunch, salads, sandwiches, burgers and boards are the order of the day. Little ones are also well taken care of with the kids' lunch box (chicken and avo sandwich, salad, organic smoothie and a treat!) as well as ice blocks and rainbow paddle pops.

With roots firmly planted within the Sydney food scene, The Queens Park Shed is a welcome newcomer.
