Crunch Your Way Through This Home-Delivered DIY Cannoli Box

A DIY cannoli with a fresh ricotta and pistachio filling sits on a timber chopping board with leftover crushed pistachios to the side in a small plastic dish.

Just when we thought we’d seen all of the DIY boxes out there, we stumbled across the latest Gold Coast creation; say hello to DIY cannoli boxes.

Brought to us by the folks at La Cannoleria, the classic Cannoli Box comes packed with everything you need to build your own crunchy rolls of deliciousness.

For $30, you’ll find six ready-to-go cannoli shells—which is just enough to share if you really wanted to—plus, 400 grams of fresh Sicilian ricotta, along with three final toppings to really take these to the next level—pistachio, choc chip and salted caramel.

While this could look like a spontaneous offering born out of the coronavirus pandemic, these DIY boxes have actually been two years in the making, with countless research, product development and packaging trials taking place. So you know it’s going to be good, real good, maybe even as good as Nonna’s.

If you’ve had to cancel your Euro summer trip, smashing a box of cannoli has surely got to be the next best thing. La Cannoleria is delivering to doorsteps in Broadbeach for free, or if you’re a little further afield, they’ll let you know the delivery fee when placing your order.

Oh and these are a sell-out, so if you’re hoping to wrap your mouth around them anytime soon, the La Cannoleria team are now accepting orders for next week.
