Forget Netflix | Here’s How To Embrace Perth’s Cooler Months

The mercury may have dropped but don’t burrow beneath the doona and throw on Netflix just yet—Perth’s calendar is just heating up. From ice skating and pop-up cinemas to incredible eats and treats, thanks to City of Perth there’s plenty of reasons to hit the town and enjoy your best winter yet.

Get To Winter Fest

From 24 June to 21 July, the city is coming alive with art activations, mesmerising light shows, whiskey tastings, ice skating, drool-worthy eats, magicians—and that’s just the beginning of Winter Fest’s jam-packed program. Our top picks? The adults-only Winter Fest Theatre on from 12 to 19 July, which will see Forrest Place taken over by magicians, acrobats, comedians, jugglers, singers and dancers. For peak nostalgia, get to the Ice Skating Festival from 28 June to 21 July at Elizabeth Quay and glide across the pop-up ice skating rink or slip down ice slides. Get Cosy At 140 Library

If this isn’t the most ‘Grammable spot in Perth, we don’t know what is. 140 Perth Postal Place has transformed into a pastel pink and green inner-city retreat for those blustery winter days. The space is decked out with a book exchange, so you can grab a new read and leave one in its place. You can also feel good knowing once this pop-up is packed up, all of the books will be donated to charity.

Bust Shapes At Embargo EOFY Party

The End of Financial Year is the ultimate excuse to throw a party, and Embargo is doing just that. On 28 June, you can bust shapes and warm up on the dancefloor with two free drinks and live entertainment spread across multiple stages. Check Out This Toasty Pop-Up Cinema

A pop-up cinematic experience brought to you by the legends behind Rooftop Movies and FRINGE WORLD has hit Perth. There’s going to be marshmallow toasting, mulled wine, pizza and a mix of the latest and greatest flicks, so all you’ve got to do is kick back on your cosy bean bag and take a load off. Load Up On These Winter Treats

There’s a slew of delicious haunts serving up special eats and treats this winter. Pop into Louder Louder for a drool-worthy 48-hour slow cooked beef rib massaman curry and wine, then follow it up with deep fried ice cream at Whisk Creamery.

In what can only be described as another dream pairing, pop into James St Bar + Kitchen for 36-hour beef cheek and mulled wine and keep the good times rolling with dessert tapas for two at Cocolat. You’ll be treated to macarons, mud cake, chia pudding, pralines, citrus tart and mousse. We’ll see you there.
