Start emptying your piggy bank, there’s finally an Egyptian food truck in Sydney. Launching this weekend at Grifter Brewing Co. in Camperdown, El Qahirah will give your belly a taste of the very best in Egyptian eats, direct from the street of Cairo.
There will be Koshary (aka a combo of lentils, macaroni and rice, topped with a Middle Eastern spiced tomato sauce, chick peas and fried onions) and Fuul Medames (think the Egyptian breakfast of champions), but don’t even bother showing up if you’re not going order the Taameva. Served in a traditional balady flatbread pouch, with tomato, cucumbers, pickles, radish and tahini, these super food patties are like falafels but better. See you there.
