Big news Sydney, you’re about to hit peak COVID-19 lockdown mode. If you’re a ramen fiend, the brothy feeds at Haymarket’s Gumshara Ramen won’t be a new discovery for you, but the fact that these guys are now churning out a take-home microwaveable ramen will be.

Famous for whipping up some of the most filling portions of ramen around, Gumshara Ramen is tucked away in an unassuming Chinatown food court. In these COVID-19 times, Gumshara has developed a tonkotsu style “chilled ramen”  for $16, similar to the addictive jelly-like soup you can buy at convenience stores in Japan. The jelly consistency is achieved just by using natural collagen from pork, and the Gumshara team has also ensured your noodles will stay firm and the soup won’t overflow in the microwave.

This ramen is absolutely going to be your new favourite work from home snack, as it only takes five minutes to cook in the microwave. For now, you can collect these microwaveable beauties in-store with no waiting time, head here for all the details.

You can also beat the 3pm slump with a daily live-stream of this Sydney crocodile's feeding time.
