There's no denying that we have one of the most spectacular cities in the world. And it's not because we're biased. Ok, we are. But it's also true. So when there's an opportunity to enjoy a few drinks on a rooftop that has views across the city skyline and Sydney Harbour, we're 100% in.
Sky Terrace at The Star has opened its doors to Sydneysiders for the second year in a row and we were lucky enough to be invited to the launch party last Thursday to see what it's all about (we love our job!).
Situated on the expansive roof of The Star, the first thing we noticed when we walked in was the amazing views. The second thing we noticed was how good looking everyone seemed to be. Damn, The Star, you certainly know how to pull an attractive crowd.
More than just a great view *wink*, pro bartenders were creating impressive cocktails, along with an abundance of other tipples to keep us happy all night. The make-your-own cocktail bar was a tonne of fun, allowing you to choose your alcoholic base, and whatever fruit you wanted, which was then juiced and combined with your spirit of choice. Fun AND delicious? Yep, that's definitely our thing.
There were also various stands where we could pick up bar snacks like spiced corn chips with pea guacamole, Philly cheese steaks, and chicken quesadillas. We tried all of them (would you expect anything less?) and can confirm they were all delicious. We've also been told there'll be pop-up dining every week from The Star's famous restaurants. We're talking the likes of Balla, BLACK by ezard, Sokyo, Fat Noodle, and Momofuku Sei?bo, who will all be in rotation over summer serving up what we're predicting will be some of the best bar food in Sydney.
While we listened to the DJ with a cocktail in hand and watched the sun set, we made a mental note to return to The Star again and again during the summer months. And with Sky Terrace being an official Sydney Festival bar, there's absolutely no doubt we'll be back! See you there?
