It doesn’t take much to excite us, so when we heard that a new bar was opening in Sydney—in The Hills, no less—it’s safe to say that we were pretty jazzed. Anyone who lives in The Hills is no doubt, well acquainted with the 610 bus and has spent a few too many trips sitting next to a poor sod who couldn’t last the distance—props if that poor sod wasn’t you.
Well those days are over my Hills District friends, or at least they will be, when Chedd’r opens up shop in Bella Vista. Chedd’r is the baby of three Hills’ natives, Richie Shawl, Vikram Shawl and Prince Pius, who are bringing a little bit of Cali charm to Sydney.
Inside, the bar will play home to an impressive marble and rose gold cocktail bar, opening up into a Venice Beach-style lounge. The food will have a heavy emphasis on quality (as it should) with an American and South American-inspired menu designed by Head Chef Michael Groves—who's a true blue hills boy himself, who's returning home after a stint in Paris and Denmark.
Chedd’r is set to open early this year, so the countdown is officially on. You can stalk their progress on insta here.
