One of the many things we’re incredibly proud of here on the Gold Coast is our drool-worthy food scene bursting with award-winning eateries and local gems. But with COVID-19 seeing more and more people self-isolating, the hospitality industry has been hit with empty tables and cancelled bookings. And while we want everyone to stay safe, we also want our foodie friends to know we’re here to support them as best we can.

So, how can you do that? Many of our fave eateries are thinking outside of the box, offering takeaway and delivery options so you can enjoy their delicious eats from the comfort of your couch—that’s a silver lining, if you ask us.

We’ll keep rotating this list, so keep checking back often to see how you can throw your support behind these Gold Coast businesses. And, if we’re missing your fave, let us know!

Here are 10 restaurants to grab epic takeaway on the Gold Coast right now.

Orzo

Broadbeach

Taking a different approach with their takeaway menu, Orzo presents a set menu for two people each weekend, inspired by a different region in Italy. This weekend, the focus is on Veneto, so expect cicchetti like fried cuttlefish to start, followed by a squid ink tagliatelle and ending with a true classic, the tiramisu. Lock in date night and check out the menu here.

The North Room

Mermaid Beach

Fancy some gold old comfort food? This weekend is your last chance to dig your fork into The North Room’s stomach-filling jacket potatoes. Serving them up Thursday through to Saturday night, they’ll set you back $15 each. With toppings like fried deboned chicken wings, BBQ pork and beans, beef cheek and pickles and vegetarian, these aren’t your average ‘throw together at home’ tatties. Find out more, here.

Labart

Burleigh Heads

This Burleigh gem, who scored a coveted Good Food Guide Hat after just one year of service, has sadly closed its doors for the foreseeable future. But to ensure you’re still getting your fill of their award-winning eats, Labart are slinging nourishing, comfort food from their kitchen. Currently only available for pickup from the restaurant, soon they’ll also be offering a home delivery service. Dishes, which change daily depending on seasonal produce, may include slow-cooked beef cheek with roasted potato and salsa verde, red wine chicken with bacon, mushroom and mash, and braised lamb shanks with polenta and peas.

Tasca

Coolangatta

If you’re in isolation, you might as well eat the best and Tasca is certainly one of them. The Cooly eatery (which is still open, if you’re nearby) is offering takeaway on any of the dishes on their current menu, excluding oysters, crab and kingfish. Moreish dishes you can smash in your PJs include local burrata with brown butter and forest mushroom, and herb-rubbed chicken with sprigarello. Their famous ‘Pasta Tuesdays’—where you can score a bowl of melt-in-your-mouth pasta for just $15 a pop is also available for takeaway. Head to their Insta for the day’s menu and text in your order for pickup. Last week’s menu included their famous prawn Bolognese and lamb ragu.

Burleigh Pavilion

Burleigh Heads

Starting from today, you will be able to order all your Burleigh Pavilion favourites to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. There's the daily specials, as well as wood-fired pizzas, beer battered fish and chips, grilled chicken burgers and fresh, tasty salads, plus all the sides (hello, sweet potato fries). Just give them a bell, place your order from their takeaway menu and head over to pick it all up. Should you get there 10 minutes early, you can always while away the time with a cheeky bevvy on the terrace which remains open.

Lupo

Mermaid Beach

The Mermaid Beach modern Italian joint is still open—and like the others on this list are taking on extra health and safety measures—but, if you’re self-isolating, Lupo is also offering a curated takeaway menu packed with delish eats. Simply give them a ring or order at the bar, and you could be feasting on gnocchi gorgonzola, roast chicken with cavolo nero and lemon, lasagne and panzanella salad.

Balboa

Palm Beach

No matter the day of the week, we’re always down for some pizza and pasta. Thankfully, Palm Beach’s Balboa is now offering takeaway and delivery for a minimum of $40. Their takeaway menu is one the biggest we’ve seen, offering a slew of red and white based pizza, gnocchi, risottos, ravioli and bigger feeds like wagyu sirloin, lamb shoulder and quail parmigiana. There’s also ample sides and a kiddies menu.  We’re already drooling.

Rick Shores

Burleigh Heads

Without a doubt one of the Gold Coast’s best restaurants, Rick Shores are now doing takeaway and we couldn’t be more stoked. Order online and pop down to pick up your favourites like the mouth-watering Moreton Bay Bug Roll or their zingy Singapore Chilli Crab Noodles. Not keen on changing out of your PJs to do the dash and grab? Well, you’re in luck. Pull up and the friendly team will deliver the goods straight to your car.

Etsu

Mermaid Beach

While we’re all already missing basking in Etsu’s lively atmosphere, you can still scoff their authentic Japanese eats, takeaway-style. With a to-go menu that is bustling with flavour-packed dishes, including bites from their raw fish bar, we totally recommend rallying your flatmates together for an epic night at home. Just don’t forget to order the sake. Oh and a few servings of the edamame cheesecake wouldn’t hurt either.

Social Eating House

Broadbeach

Social Eating House has just launched their takeaway menu and will be keeping Gold Coast foodies satisfied at home, seven days a week, from 12pm to 8pm. Start with baguettes and lamp empanadas, then grab a share plate to devour with your iso buddy—the slow-cooked lamb shoulder with yoghurt, cabbage slaw and chat potatoes has snagged our attention. Find their takeaway menu here and call 07 5504 5210 to place your order.
